Navarathri (meaning Nine Nights), invokes the power of ‘Shakti’ in the form of Goddess, the Universal Mother, creator of all of us children; thus worship for 9 nights bestows upon us & families, the power to maintain physical and mental balance.
Nine nights are divided into 3×3 nights, to adore different aspects of supreme goddess! First 3 nights, Mother is invoked as Durga, to detroy all our defects, vices etc. The next three nights, She is adored as a giver of spiritual wealth, Lakshmi. The last 3 nights, we worship Her as the goddess of wisdom, Saraswati. In order have all-round success in life, we need the blessings of all three aspects of the divine mother!

Advent of Shakti! The festival of Dassera brings an air of triumph over the evil in India. Goddess Durga, who’s worshipped during this occasion, represents two facets of female energy (Shakti) – one serene and caring and the other vicious and destructive. This year Dussehra from 23rd September till 2nd October. Goddess Durga evolved to destroy the demon Mahishasur. Lord Rama chanted the prayers of the goddess to destroy Demon Ravana. The Durgotsav festival is celebrated differently by different sects for 9 days (Navratri). The first day of Ghatsthapna till the tenth day of Vijayadashmi in India. Goddesses Durga, Parvati or Kali, Laxmi and Saraswati, Ganesh and Kartikeya are prayed to during this festival. Dance (Garba), and during this festival. Idols and calendars of Sherawali Durga, greeting cards, sweet and dry fruit, dresses, jewelry and jewelry boxes are some of the gifts for this occasion.
